Basketball Game Preview: Swartz Creek Dragons vs. Lapeer Lightning

The Swartz Creek Dragons will head out to face off against the Lapeer Lightning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Swartz Creek will be strutting in after a victory while Lapeer will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Swartz Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Holly, taking the game 51-39. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Bronchos are ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lapeer was beaten by Davison 70-43 on Friday. The Lightning have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Lapeer now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Swartz Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Swartz Creek, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-32 loss to Lapeer in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Swartz Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
