Softball Recap: Milwaukee Reagan Has No Trouble Against Milwaukee Bay View

Milwaukee Reagan got themselves on the board against Milwaukee Bay View on Monday, but Milwaukee Bay View never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Redcats with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 16 runs or more this season.

Tessa Balestrieri-Michalski made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bri Byrd, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Alana Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Milwaukee Reagan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Milwaukee Reagan has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Milwaukee Bay View, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milwaukee Reagan will face off against Milwaukee King at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Milwaukee Bay View, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Riverside University/Meir at 5:00 p.m. on the 30th.
