Softball Game Preview: Page County Panthers vs. Clarke County Eagles

Page County has won three straight games at home, while Clarke County has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Panthers will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Page County proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Central Woodstock 2-1.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Clarke County sidestepped Musselman for an 11-9 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Applemen recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Page County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Clarke County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Page County came out on top in a nail-biter against Clarke County in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
