Volleyball Game Preview: Oviedo Lions vs. University Cougars

The Oviedo Lions will head out to face off against the University Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Oviedo lost 3-0 to Hagerty on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost five in a row.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-18.

Meanwhile, University posted their closest win since April 18, 2024 on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past Oak Ridge 3-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

University wouldn't go down easily and took Oak Ridge into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 26-24, 25-15, 20-25, 15-11.

Oviedo better keep an eye on Josiah Hernandez. He was instrumental in University's win, getting 33 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave Hernandez a new career-high.

University's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Oviedo, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
