Baseball Game Preview: Tuscarora Huskies vs. Penfield Patriots

The Tuscarora Huskies will challenge the Penfield Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Tuscarora is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Liverpool on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Ashton Peshke made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Peshke was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in June of 2024.

In other batting news, Michael Kozikowski was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Tyler Karg was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Penfield strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Elmira 8-1.

Dom Denecke looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joey Bianchi, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Reyes, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Tuscarora's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Penfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
