Volleyball Recap: Racine Case Comes Up Short

Racine Case was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Berlin Eisenhower Lions.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Racine Case lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Emma Naegeli paced Racine Case's offense, picking up eight kills. Naegeli got some help from Mackenzie Ortiz and her 13 assists. Carly Laplante controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Racine Case's loss dropped their record down to 11-24. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Racine Case wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against West Bend East on the 11th. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Muskego on the 11th.
