Basketball Recap: Willsboro Central Comes Up Short

Willsboro Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 62-28 loss at the hands of the Lake Placid Bombers. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.

It was another big night for Seb Cecunjanin, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards for Lake Placid. Cecunjanin's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Hayes, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Willsboro Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lake Placid, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-10.

Willsboro Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Johnsburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Johnsburg Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lake Placid, they will square off against Seton Catholic Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seton Catholic Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Lake Placid likes a good challenge.
