Southside Christian dropped their record down to 4-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Wilson Christian Academy Chargers, falling 15-5. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 7-1.
Zeke Ragan was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Ragan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ragan wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathanael Jewett, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Jewett has become a key player for Southside Christian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Another was Jonah Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
As for Wilson Christian Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Like Southside Christian, Wilson Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Davis Pittman. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 7.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Pittman has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his six plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Austin Coughlin was incredible, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ethan Kriger was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Southside Christian has already played their next game, an 11-7 win against New Life Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Wilson Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 18-0 victory against Scotland Christian Academy on the 28th.
