Baseball Game Preview: North Broward Prep Eagles vs. Everglades Gators

The North Broward Prep Eagles will take on the Everglades Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Broward Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

North Broward Prep's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Neumann 11-0. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Bristol tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kiernan O'Neill, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Burkholz, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

North Broward Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Everglades was able to grind out a solid win over Fort Lauderdale last Thursday, taking the game 5-2. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Flying L's recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Eliezer Romero and Alex Mota did most of the damage at the plate: Romero scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Mota went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Salvador Duran was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

North Broward Prep's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Everglades, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
