Basketball Recap: Kenwood Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Whitney Young

On Saturday, Kenwood faced Whitney Young in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Kenwood Broncos fell 72-61 to the Whitney Young Dolphins. The Broncos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dolphins earlier this season, when they won 69-61.

Destiny Jackson was her usual excellent self, going 12-for-22 en route to 42 points and seven boards for Whitney Young. The contest was Jackson's eighth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaby Domercant, who posted 11 points.

Kenwood's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 14-1 and their overall record down to 28-3. As for Whitney Young, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-8.

Kenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Whitney Young, they will face off against Reavis at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
