Basketball Recap: Gladstone Takes a Loss

Gladstone lost against Kingsford on February 6th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Gladstone Braves were beaten by the Kingsford Flivvers 73-36. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th in Michigan, while the Flivvers are ranked 28th in Michigan).

Gladstone's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-17. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Kingsford, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Gladstone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kingsford, they will challenge Negaunee at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Kingsford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Negaunee likes a good challenge.
