Basketball Recap: Thomas Stone Comes Up Short

Thomas Stone was the 46-16 winner over Calvert when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thomas Stone Cougars fell 29-21 to the Calvert Cavaliers on Tuesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calvert got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Kidwell out in front who posted eight points in addition to 14 rebounds and three steals. Kidwell has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma McCurry, who had ten points.

Thomas Stone's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Calvert, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.

Thomas Stone will head out to face off against Great Mills at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Great Mills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Calvert, they will be playing at home against Chopticon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
