Football Recap: Tonkawa's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Tonkawa lost against Stroud back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Buccaneers took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The loss put an end to the Buccaneers' undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Tonkawa lost, don't look at Lucas Keith. Despite the final result, he rushed for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Stroud's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Collins, who picked up 113 receiving yards, and also rushed for 49 yards. Those 113 receiving yards gave Collins a new career-high. Another big playmaker for Stroud was Jacob Beck, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Tonkawa fell to 2-1. As for Stroud, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Tonkawa will square off against Quapaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Buccaneers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Stroud, they will face off against Kellyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Ponies have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
