Baseball Game Preview: Grand Ledge Comets vs. Petoskey Northmen

The Grand Ledge Comets will challenge the Petoskey Northmen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Petoskey took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Grand Ledge, who comes in off a win.

Grand Ledge came out on top against Waverly on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Comets put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 12-1 victory. That 11-run margin sets a new team best for the Comets this season.

AJ Parseghian looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Braeden McDaniels was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Terranova, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Grand Ledge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waverly struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Petoskey was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 11-2 to St. Francis. The game marked the Northmen's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Petoskey fell to 4-1. As for Grand Ledge, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
