Football Recap: Overton Takes a Loss

Overton extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They took a blow against the Antioch Bears, falling 55-10. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Overton lost, don't look at Trenton Edwards. Despite the final result, he rushed for 116 yards, and also picked up 55 receiving yards.

As for Antioch, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Andre Adams, who threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Adrian Watts also helped with two TDs in total.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overton will take on Rossview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Antioch, they will welcome Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
