Baseball Game Preview: Grand County Red Devils vs. South Sevier Rams

Grand County is 2-8 against South Sevier since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Devils will welcome the Rams at 3:30 p.m. Grand County has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Grand County's offense. They lost 14-0 to South Sevier on Tuesday.

For South Sevier's part, Gus Ingram made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Ingram also tossed a walk, which is notable because South Sevier is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise. Ingram was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Grady Heaps was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Krew Winkel, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

South Sevier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Grand County's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for South Sevier, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
