            Softball Recap: Excelsior Charter Eagles vs. Big Bear Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Excelsior Charter had to endure  a  four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with  a   12-8  victory over the Big Bear Bears  on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played  back in April of 2024.

 Rylie Hunsaker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5.1  strikeouts per game.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Tristen Gonzalez, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in February.  April Corradino was another key player,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
Excelsior Charter's  win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-7-1. As for Big Bear,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-6.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Excelsior Charter beat the Bears by a score of  11-8 on Thursday.
