While West Valley's victory against Central Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Falcons on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since March 20th.
Cadynce Gippner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maddy Pemberton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kylee Jaramillo, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
West Valley pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Central Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.
