Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Comes Up Short

Polytechnic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to the Trimble Tech Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Tuesday.

Jonathan Parga made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

Polytechnic's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Trimble Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6-2 record this season.

Polytechnic will be playing in front of their home fans against Arlington Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arlington Heights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Polytechnic's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Trimble Tech, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 victory against Castleberry on the 29th.
