Battle Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Moore County with a sharp 3-0 win.
Battle Creek never let Moore County on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-23, 25-14.
Meanwhile, Spring Hill didn't have quite enough to beat Loretto on Monday and fell 3-2. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Spring Hill actually scored more points across those five sets (107-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 13-25, 25-23, 17-15.
Battle Creek's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-17. As for Spring Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
