Softball Recap: Marshwood Comes Up Short

Marshwood fell victim to Kennebunk and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 back in April.

Marshwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Hester, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Marshwood has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Kennebunk, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Marshwood will be playing at home against South Portland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Riots have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Kennebunk, they will venture away from home to square off against Thornton Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
