Basketball Game Preview: Highland Huskies vs. Genesee Bulldogs

The Highland Huskies and the Genesee Bulldogs will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-15, which was the final score in Highland's tilt against Deary on Friday. The game marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Genesee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-43 to Nezperce. The Bulldogs were down 56-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Highland will need focus on slowing down Noah Bollman, one of several Genesee players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Vince Crowley, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Highland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Genesee, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything went Highland's way against Genesee in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as Highland made off with a 64-43 victory. Does Highland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Genesee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
