Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Madison Taylor and Abby Dennis

After flying high against Northeast last Wednesday, Riverdale came back down to earth. The Riverdale Warriors took a 36-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Giles County Bobcats on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Bobcats are ranked 103rd).

Despite the defeat, Riverdale had strong showings from Abby Dennis, who posted nine points and six boards, and Madison Taylor, who earned six points.

Riverdale's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Giles County, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Riverdale will host Siegel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Giles County, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Giles County Bobcats duke it out with the Lawrence County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
