Basketball Recap: Jacob Causer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Port Allegany over Kane

Port Allegany was the 47-44 winner over Kane when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Port Allegany Gators took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kane Wolves on Monday. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Causer, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Causer now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy. Nick Wilfong was another key player, going 6 of 15 en route to 14 points.

Phinn Chamberlain went supernova for Kane, going 8 for 13 to rack up 22 points and four steals. Those 22 points gave Chamberlain a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Darr, who posted ten points and five boards.

Port Allegany's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Kane, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-11.

Port Allegany wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-56 defeat against Cameron County on the 4th. As for Kane, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-42 win against Brockway on the 5th.
