Basketball Recap: Gray's Creek Falls Despite Big Games from Ezekiel Reed and Quion Andrews

Gray's Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cape Fear Colts. The match marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gray's Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Quion Andrews and Ezekiel Reed. Andrews posted 16 points and three steals, while Reed had seven points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Andrews a new career-high in steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cape Fear to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Eavenson, who put up eight points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chosen Wynn, who earned seven points and six boards.

Gray's Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Cape Fear, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gray's Creek beat Cape Fear by a score of 53-47 on Friday.
