Morgan has won three straight games at home, while Grantsville has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Trojans will host the Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. Morgan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
While Morgan's win against Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans skirted past the Cougars 3-2. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Addy Cragun spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexi Hardman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Grantsville never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Ben Lomond 15-0. The Cowboys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Brynn Anderson was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other pitching news, Hayden Bytheway looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Kamry Allen and Charlotte Lee did most of the damage at the plate: Allen scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Lee went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. SaDee Castagno was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Grantsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matchups.
Grantsville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Both Morgan and Grantsville just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Grantsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
