Notre Dame (SO) hasn't had much luck against Chaminade recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, Notre Dame (SO) ended up a good deal behind Serra and lost 35-16. The Knights were down 28-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Although Notre Dame (SO) took the loss, they still got scores from Emmanuel Pullins and Wyatt Brown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chaminade). They breezed past Loyola to the tune of 52-0 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Notre Dame (SO) better focus on containing Cameron Blackman and Beau Lindus as the pair were huge in Chaminade's win. Blackman rushed for 92 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, while Lindus picked up 122 receiving yards and two TDs. Blackman has become a key player for Chaminade: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Chaminade proved: they limited Loyola to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Hudson Manning for the heroic effort on defense: he. Chaminade's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.77 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.6 on average over their last five games.
Chaminade pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.7 points over those games. As for Notre Dame (SO), they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Notre Dame (SO) has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Chaminade struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 169.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Notre Dame (SO) and Chaminade were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Notre Dame (SO) came up empty-handed after a 31-30 defeat.
