Soccer Game Preview: Wheaton-Warrenville South vs. Oswego East

The Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Oswego East Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Wheaton-Warrenville South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Warren Township, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for Wheaton-Warrenville South, who have now won six games in a row.

Meanwhile, Oswego East got the win against Romeoville on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. Given Oswego East's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Romeoville are ranked 207th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oswego East hit Romeoville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mckenzie Coleman, Catie Sloan, and Rachel Kangas.

Wheaton-Warrenville South pushed their record up to 6-0-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four matches. As for Oswego East, their win bumped their record up to 3-1-4.

Wheaton-Warrenville South came out on top in a nail-biter against Oswego East in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
