Grant Park waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Watseka Warriors by a score of 9-5. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered an 11-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cheyenne Hayes made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Grant Park let Lola Malkowski and Abigail Roberts run wild. Malkowski scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Roberts scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most hits Malkowski has posted since back in April of 2024. Kaylie Meherg also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Watseka has already played their next game, an 11-3 loss against Oakwood on the 14th. Hopefully Grant Park payed attention to the Warriors' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
