Recap: Northwest Halifax Vikings vs. Henderson Collegiate Pride
The Northwest Halifax Vikings's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Henderson Collegiate by a score of 53-40. Northwest Halifax's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Northwest Halifax's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daveion Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Richardson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Hendricks, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Northwest Halifax's victory bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Henderson Collegiate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Northwest Halifax will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Mount Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mount Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Henderson Collegiate, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eno River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
