Elizabeth Seton is 0-10 against Bishop O'Connell since May of 2019 but things could change on Friday. Elizabeth Seton will venture away from home to challenge Bishop O'Connell at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Elizabeth Seton comes in on four and Bishop O'Connell on 29.
While Elizabeth Seton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Cape Henry Collegiate on Tuesday.

Kimmya Sims was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Celia Wills was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Elizabeth Seton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cape Henry Collegiate struck out 14 times.
Meanwhile, Bishop O'Connell faced Paul VI in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Bishop O'Connell skirted past Paul VI 8-7.
Annie Van Dyck looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ari Clark, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Abby Bond, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Bishop O'Connell's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Elizabeth Seton, their record is now 4-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Elizabeth Seton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bishop O'Connell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Elizabeth Seton might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Bishop O'Connell in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Elizabeth Seton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
