Basketball Recap: Terrance Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Raines over Andrew Jackson

Raines lost against Andrew Jackson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raines Vikings fell 76-69 to the Andrew Jackson Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Tigers are ranked tenth).

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terrance Walker, who went 5 of 8 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds gave Walker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jesus Rice, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and three blocks.

It was another big night for David Wilson, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds for Andrew Jackson. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahari Simmons, who posted 13 points and five assists.

Raines' loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Andrew Jackson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Raines didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-62 victory against First Coast on the 28th. As for Andrew Jackson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-52 win against Ribault on the 28th.
