Basketball Recap: Whitney RVT Comes Up Short

Whitney RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 45-28 bruising from the Derby Red Raiders. If the Owls were looking for revenge after losing 59-35 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Derby to victory were Shea Gray and Jerlena Alexander. Gray dropped a double-double on 25 points and 20 boards, while Alexander dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Gray has scored at least a third of Derby's points.

Whitney RVT's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Derby, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Whitney RVT will take on Wolcott RVT at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Derby has already played their next contest (against Crosby), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
