Recap: Laguna Beach Breakers vs. Westminster Lions
The Laguna Beach Breakers had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.8 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westminster 42-7 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
It was another big night for Nick Rogers, who rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 78 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Kollock, who threw for 390 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt.
Laguna Beach's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. As for Westminster, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Laguna Beach will look to defend their home field on Friday against El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. El Dorado is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Westminster, they will head out on the road to face off against Schurr at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Schurr is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
