Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Hilltoppers vs. Superior Spartans

Marshall hasn't had much luck against Superior recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Marshall Hilltoppers will face off against the Superior Spartans at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Marshall is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 82-67 to Chisholm. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (60), the Hilltoppers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Superior waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Bluejackets by a score of 68-60.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Superior, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Marshall was dealt a bruising 87-58 loss at the hands of Superior when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Marshall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
