Preview: St. Bonaventure Seraphs vs. Calabasas Coyotes

The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Calabasas Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Bonaventure has five straight wins, Calabasas has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Bonaventure beat Simi Valley 29-24.

St. Bonaventure's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Wolter, who threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was DJ Doss, who picked up 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Calabasas ended up a good deal behind Bishop Diego on Saturday and lost 34-15. Calabasas was down 34-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

St. Bonaventure has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first eight contests, giving them a 6-2 record. Calabasas has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

St. Bonaventure strolled past Calabasas when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 49-31. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Calabasas' Jerry Mcgee, who picked up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for St. Bonaventure to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
