Basketball Recap: Nolan Catholic's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Nolan Catholic hadn't done well against Concordia Lutheran recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Nolan Catholic Vikings walked away with a 78-67 win over the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 436th, while the Crusaders are ranked 1041st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Concordia Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Loukas Naum, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Neidigk, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

The victory snapped Nolan Catholic's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-7 record. As for Concordia Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Nolan Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-55 defeat against Legacy Prep Christian Academy on the 20th. As for Concordia Lutheran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 90-85 loss against Prep Student Academic Training Academy on the 20th.
