Soccer Game Preview: Vidor vs. Hamshire-Fannett

The Vidor Pirates will take on the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at 7:25 p.m. on Saturday. Vidor's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Vidor saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty.

Vidor's goal came courtesy of Colby Wilcox, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hamshire-Fannett's offense. They fell just short of Hardin-Jefferson by a score of 1-0 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by just one goal.

Vidor's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Hamshire-Fannett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Everything went Vidor's way against Hamshire-Fannett in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as Vidor made off with a 4-1 win. Does Vidor have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hamshire-Fannett turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
