Baseball Game Preview: Durango Demons vs. Grand Junction Central Warriors

Durango is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Grand Junction Central Warriors at 3:00 p.m. Durango is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Grand Junction Central will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Durango extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Demons walked away with a 7-4 win over Montezuma-Cortez.

Durango got a great performance from Sam Clark as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Durango's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Landin Padilla, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Cully Feeny was another, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central came up short against Coal Ridge on Tuesday, falling 11-2. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Durango's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Grand Junction Central, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8.
