Volleyball Recap: Tehachapi Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Tehachapi unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Burroughs Burros on Thursday. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Burros from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

While Tehachapi had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.

Lilyana Bundt paced Tehachapi's offense, picking up six kills. Bundt got some help from Lola Napier and her 11 assists. Finally, Victoria Saavedra kept Tehachapi's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Burroughs was led to victory by Brooklynn Sizemore and Lillah O'Grady. Sizemore had 11 digs and one assist, while O'Grady had ten digs and two assists. Those two assists gave O'Grady a new career-high.

Burroughs has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tehachapi will welcome Chavez at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burroughs, they will be playing at home against Paraclete at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
