Baseball Game Preview: Winter Park Wildcats vs. Riverdale Warriors

The Winter Park Wildcats will challenge the Riverdale Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winter Park will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Winter Park is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: South Walton, who was ranked sixth at the time (Winter Park was ranked 23rd). Winter Park skirted past South Walton 5-3.

Jackson Freyer looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Winter Park's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Skyler Jersey, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Hayden Montanez was another, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Riverdale scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 18-14 to Lewisburg. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winter Park's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Riverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
