Softball Recap: North Rockland Raiders vs. White Plains Tigers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Rockland had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the White Plains Tigers out 2-1. Winning may never get old, but North Rockland sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

For White Plains' part, Alexis Tighe spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Tighe has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 19 consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, White Plains saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Galligani, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

North Rockland's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for White Plains, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-2.
