Softball Recap: Frontier Extends Winning Streak to Three

Frontier won against Hamburg on Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Falcons came out on top against the New Hartford Spartans by a score of 12-8. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Cayla Dycha spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered eight earned runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

At the plate, Frontier got a massive performance out of Julia Ford, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. Lyla Hudson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Frontier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Frontier's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for New Hartford, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, Frontier will face off against Shaker at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for New Hartford, they will challenge Holland Patent at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
