Basketball Recap: Whitharral Finds Playoff Glory Versus Sands

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Whitharral had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed past the Sands Mustangs to the tune of 72-41. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Whitharral was led to victory by Nathaniel Sansom and Brenton Robinson. Sansom dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards, while Robinson went 8-for-15 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. Sansom is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played. Damian Rodriguez was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Whitharral was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory (which was Whitharral's 12th in a row) raised their record to 20-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points over those games. As for Sands, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-10.

Whitharral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-47 loss against Panhandle on the 15th. As for Sands, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-41 defeat against Whitharral on the 17th.
