Softball Recap: Anamosa Comes Up Short

After flying high against Monticello on Thursday, Anamosa came back down to earth. The Raiders fell just short of the Mt. Vernon Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Raiders have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Anamosa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mt. Vernon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Anamosa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 loss against Dike-New Hartford on the 7th. As for Mt. Vernon, they have also already played their next game, a 9-1 victory against Newton on the 7th.
