Baseball Recap: Long Branch Wins Going Away Against Asbury Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Long Branch). They blew past the Asbury Park Bishops 18-5 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Bishops: they've now won eight in a row.

David Jules was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Korey Castillo, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Jules wasn't the only one making solid contact: Long Branch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Long Branch back to even at 2-2. As for Asbury Park, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Long Branch will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bishops: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
