Basketball Recap: Sioux City North Takes a Loss

Sioux City North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 75-38 loss at the hands of the Lincoln Lynx. The Stars lost against the Lynx in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 59-54 score last time.

Leading Lincoln to victory were Hutson Rau and Addie Naughton. Rau went 8 of 9 on her way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Naughton went 7 for 14 on her way to 14 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Sandbothe, who posted eight points.

Sioux City North's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sioux City North will host Western Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln, they will square off against Bellevue West at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
