Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somerset). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Jourdanton Indians/Squaws 48-13. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

Somerset's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malakai Iverson, who picked up 131 receiving yards and three TDs. Iverson's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 receiving yards. Kaleb Flores was another key passer, throwing for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

The victory made it two in a row for Somerset and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Jourdanton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Somerset will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Uvalde at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Jourdanton, they have already played their next contest, a 41-30 win against Floresville on the 26th.
