Southwest Georgia STEM Charter has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Abbeville Christian Academy Generals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Southwest Georgia STEM Charter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Webster County by a score of 64-53.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Abbeville Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-61 victory over Edgewood Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jayden Buckhannon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with six assists and six steals. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for him. Javarse Turner was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Southwest Georgia STEM Charter's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
