Basketball Recap: Blair Blazers vs. Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons
The Blair Blazers lost against the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Blair was beaten by the Barons 49-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Blair has scored all season.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Frances Doyle, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Anna Tercyak was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Blair dropped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Blair will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on February 20th. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Walter Johnson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
